Vineyards
Different vineyards, one mission
Each vineyard has characteristics that make it unique. We highlight this uniqueness through a single mission which expresses our devotion to excellence.
San Polo’s vineyards are located at 400-450 meters (1312-1476 feet) above sea level and the soils are quite poor and stony, composed mainly of galestro (schistous clay), and are very suitable for harnessing Sangiovese’s vitality by limiting yield in favour of grape quality. A fine job of parcelling has allowed us to separately manage each single vineyard in order to maximize the potential of a truly unique terroir.
Vineyard
Vignavecchia
Vignavecchia, hidden, steep, a little off to the side, and a treasure trove that amazes us every year with its excellent production results.
Vineyard
Podernovi
This parcel’s soil structure is one of the oldest, it was the first to emerge from the sea and dates back to the Cretaceous-Eocene period.
Vineyard
Mezzopane
Facing Monte Amiata, it is one of the most exemplary vineyards of the estate - where extraordinarily elegant wines come to life.
Vineyard
d’Oriente
The smallest vineyard on the estate facing east, where the sun rises. At the top of a hill, the wind blows constantly between its rows.
Vineyard
Rossa
A perfect mix of red and orange soil, rich in minerals and naturally hospitable to grapevines.
Vineyard
Nuova
A new vineyard, where clay reigns supreme, the youngest and most surprising agronomic project of the San Polo estate.
Vineyard
del Masso
The first vineyard you encounter when visiting San Polo. The stone at the entrance is the symbol of the estate and its respect for the environment.
Vineyard
Selva
Southeastern exposure and surrounded by seemingly enchanted woods, the grapes harvested here produce our Rubio wine.
